The Doctors of Wildwood Eyecare

Dr. Gray Sass - Wildwood Eyecare Optometrist
Dr. Gray Sass (affectionately known to all as Buzz) established his Marietta practice in 1974 based on a three-fold commitment to: 1) family (both his own and those of his patients); 2) community (participating in professional/civic organizations such as the East Cobb Lions Club, the Rotary Club of East Cobb, and youth programs including the Metro North Soccer Association); and 3) quality/cutting-edge technology/eye care.

Dr Sass’s practice provides comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages... treating, diagnosing and managing ocular diseases, eye injuries and prescriptions for all types of vision correction. Within that framework, his specialty is contact lenses. His highly developed experience with contact lenses enables him to provide optimum care, even for those patients who are considered difficult to fit and require specialty contact lenses.

From the beginning, Dr. Sass established himself as a specialist in this area as a result of being in the right place at the right time. Following graduation from Ohio University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree (Cum Laude), Dr. Sass attended Ohio State University’s School of Optometry, where he was fortunate enough to become involved in the partnership program between Bausch and Lomb (developers of the first soft contact lenses) and OSU’s contact lens clinic. The opportunity to be part of that technological advancement created the spark--- which ignited his passion--- and lead him to serve as a clinical contact lens consultant evaluating new contact lens designs/applications for some of the biggest names in the industry (including Ciba Vision, Cooper Vision, Wesley-Jessen, American Hydron and Vision Tech).

In addition to his consultative work and clinical trail investigations, he extended his expertise in contact lenses to the educational side of the optical industry, speaking at major universities such as Ohio State and the University of Georgia, as well as industry conferences/symposiums such as the Southern Educational Congress of Optometry, and the Snowmass Contact Lens Conference. He is also the author of numerous articles on contact lens developments for a variety of industry trade journals (including Optometric Management and Optometry Today).

With all his many accolades and accomplishments however, for Dr. Sass, it is really all about touching peoples’ lives. “At the end of the day, I like knowing I have improved the quality of life for my patients and made a difference.” And he is proud to add that he has served three generations of patients...his original clientele, their children and now their children’s children!

A native of Maumee, Ohio, Dr. Sass currently resides in East Cobb with his wife Nancy. They have three daughters: Jennifer, Robyn and Erica. When not at the office, Dr. Sass, who is an avid sports enthusiast, can be found on the golf course, running/jogging, or cheering on his favorite football teams (Ohio State Buckeyes and University of Georgia Bulldogs).

Dr. Mark Dickinson - Wildwood Eyecare Optometrist
Dr. Mark Dickinson is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Dickinson attended the University Of Alabama Birmingham where he earned his Doctor of Optometry.

Dr. Dickinson has been in practice in the Atlanta area for 25 years. His private practice provides total eye care, including: diagnostic eye exams, injuries and diseases of the eye, and the prescription of all types of contact lenses. He also provides eye care for nursing home patients; he has developed several programs in use at the 75 nursing homes he serves throughout the state. Dr. Dickinson prides himself on creating a bond of trust and respect with each of his patients. He listens carefully to his patients’ concerns in order to best meet their special needs. Dr. Dickinson’s extensive experience in the field of Optometry has made him a sought after speaker for health care providers throughout the Southeast.

In addition, Dr. Dickinson is an active member of the Metro Atlanta Optometric Association, the Georgia Optometric Association and the Southern Council of Optometrists. He has held various leadership positions within those organizations, mentored optometry students and worked tirelessly with fellow optometrists and lawmakers to regulate state medical policies.

He resides in Alpharetta, with his wife Kim, daughter Logan, son Luke and their two very spoiled dogs (Lucy and Libby). The family enjoys spending time together at the beach.

Dr. Lauren T. Fiscale - Wildwood Eyecare Optometrist
Dr. Lauren T. Fiscale - Photo coming soon.
Dr. Fiscale received her O.D. degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts and her Bachelor of Science degree in Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Prior to pursuing her degree in Optometry, she worked as a biochemist doing diabetes research.

Upon graduation from Optometry school she was selected to do a residency to specialize in managing ocular diseases at Atlanta's Omni Eye Services, where she served as a clinical instructor to fourth year optometric students. In addition, she provided outpatient care for patients with a wide variety of ocular conditions including: trauma, red eyes, glaucoma and retinal issues.

Dr. Fiscale developed her interest in optics at the young age of six, when she received her first pair of glasses. It was a life changing experience through which she learned the value and impact of having good vision----and her life's purpose. In addition, having a grandfather who was legally blind, further inspired her desire to one day become a doctor and to have the ability to deliver the gift of sight to those in need.

Dr. Fiscale derives great pride and fulfillment from her ability to help her patients see better, especially the children, who like herself, experience better sight for the first time in their lives when they put on their first pair of glasses!

Dr. Fiscale, a native of Boston, Massachusetts, resides in Atlanta with her dog Rusty (a Dalmatian mix). Her interests include cooking, hiking, running and outdoor walks with Rusty.
